INTRO:

Abraham Ortega is the Director of Graphics and Trial Presentation Consulting at Blueprint Trial Consulting. He is recognized for his ability to create an impact by simplifying case themes and integrating courtroom technology into presentations. His diverse background with complex cases provides the ability to visually strategize alternative solutions and present them in real time.

Abraham is frequently requested to provide graphics and trial presentation services for large, high-stakes cases throughout the United States.

GRAPHICS:

Abraham recommends and creates strategic graphics and animations to use as demonstratives during trial. He performs in-depth analysis of cases to visually communicate and interpret data for court presentations. He provides litigation graphics support to attorneys throughout their litigation, including Markman hearings, focus groups, mock trials, and trials. He also regularly assists government agencies with their litigation.

TRIAL TECH:

Abraham presents demonstratives, exhibits, and depositions during court. He provides courtroom presentation support to attorneys during ITC and PTAB proceedings and bench and jury trials. He has a great deal of experience working on Intellectual Property matters including Patents, Trademark, Copyright, and Trade Secret litigation. He also works closely in the following industries: Medical device and pharmaceutical, trusts and estates, banking, commercial litigation and construction. He has contributed and led high-stakes cases throughout the United States that have gone to trial.

Abraham easily shifts from assisting attorneys with their cases in the war room to supporting trial attorneys with trial presentation in U.S. District Courts, U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (PTO), and State and Federal Courts. Abraham’s interdisciplinary approach creates efficiency by clearly navigating evidence during a hearing or trial including Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), IPR, PGR, and CBM proceedings.

ABOUT ME:

Outside of the courtroom, Abraham develops the organization’s visual communication & trial presentation department and team’s skillset. Most importantly, he dedicates quality time to creating new memories with his wife and son and helps entrepreneurs achieve their next milestone.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Visual Communication from the University of Texas at Arlington. Studied at Texas State University

US District Court for the
Western District of North Carolina | Charlotte Division

Supported Defendants with trial graphics, animations, and video deposition testimony clips on a patent infringement suit lasting five weeks under Chief Judge Frank D. Whitney. The Federal Jury returned a verdict in favor of the Defendants and invalided the patents. Defendants, the largest online real estate company, demonstrated it did not infringed patents covering computer network processing loans over the internet.


US District Court for the
Eastern District of Texas | Marshall Division

Supported Plaintiffs with trial graphics, animations, video testimony clips, and trial presentation on a patent infringement suit under Chief District Judge Rodney Gilstrap. During the bench trial, the Judge found Defendants infringed all three patents. Plaintiff is a leading LED company that manufactures and supplies LEDs worldwide.


US District Court for the
Northern District of Illinois | Eastern Division

Supported Defendants with trial graphics, animations, and video testimony clips on a patent infringement suit under Chief Judge James F. Holderman. The court found one patent invalid for indefiniteness and granted Defendant’s Motion for Summary Judgement of Invalidity based on Indefiniteness of All Asserted Claims in one U.S. Patent. Defendant is a leading technology company related to optical communication systems.

Texas District Court | Texas Court of Appeals in Dallas

Supported Plaintiffs with trial graphics, animations, video testimony clips, and trial presentation on a breach of contract and fraud suit under Judge Dale B. Tillery. The district judge ruled that Defendants must pay Plaintiffs millions over a real estate loan. Plaintiff is a leading investment management firm that manages hedge funds globally.


Texas District Court | Lamar County

Supported Defendants with trial graphics, animations, and trial presentation on a Breach of Fiduciary Statues suit involving millions of dollars. Parties reached settlement immediately before jury started deliberation. Defendant is the largest American telecommunications company offering wireless products and services.


US District Court of Massachusetts

Supported Defendants with trial graphics, animations, video testimony clips, and trial presentation on a class action personal injury and personal liability suit involving thousands under Judge Douglass Woodstock. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the Defendant proving it did not cause suffering or death caused by its products. Defendant is a leading health care and pharmaceutical company serving patients with end-stage renal disease.
