Southern District of California

Served as lead graphics consultant pre-trial and on-site representing the original creators of an internationally renowned music-based console game against a major video game developer, in a breach of contract dispute in a private arbitration setting. Gavin’s knowledge and experience in a particular 3D software application was an asset to the trial team very early on in the case while working with expert witnesses to identify and record each breach from evidentiary 3D source files. A three-judge panel awarded the creators damages.

Eastern District of Texas

Served as lead graphics consultant representing the world’s largest tv and computer monitor manufacturer, defending against four patents related to digital television and reception. In a rare defense win for the district, the jury found that plaintiff did not infringe the asserted claims, and that the asserted claims in two of the four patents were also invalid.

Southern District of Florida

Served as graphics consultant and designer representing a home builder corporation, suing an FBI/SEC informant and former indicted ponzi scheme runner for libel and extortion. A judge ruled in favor of the home builder, stating that the defendant had in the course of the suit destroyed evidence and lied to his own attorneys.

Northern District of California

The Court ruled in favor of defense, stating that plaintiff failed to establish that defense’s inadequate warnings led to a person’s death by suicide.

Central District of California

Served as graphics consultant and designer pro bono representing injured families in multiple cases against notorious South Los Angeles slumlords with stunning records of tenant mistreatment. Assisted in winning verdicts for tenants, enabling several poverty-stricken families to exit the slums.
