Dr. Miles Hutton is a Director / Senior Litigation Consultant at Blueprint Trial Consulting. Since 2003, Dr. Hutton has worked with many high-profile clients on jury selection, juror profiling, witness preparation, strategy and theme development, case evaluation, and venue studies. He has consulted on all types of state and federal litigation around the country including insurance, contract, employment, patent, trademark and trade dress, securities, pharmaceutical liability, personal injury, white-collar crime, antitrust, and toxic tort matters.
Dr. Hutton has written articles on effective trial advocacy that have appeared in the American Bar Association (ABA) Products Liability newsletter, the ABA Business Litigation Committee periodical, the Litigation Commentary and Review periodical and in Of Counsel magazine. In addition, he has presented CLEs and seminars around the country to major law firms on topics including witness preparation, jury selection, as well as jury psychology and litigation.
Prior to joining Blueprint, Dr. Hutton worked at another prominent trial consulting firm for 22 years. Dr. Hutton has also worked as a research psychologist, a teacher, and a marketing consultant. As a research psychologist, he wrote many academic articles which appeared in such publications as Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Services, Psychiatric Services, and Psychological Services. As a teacher, Dr. Hutton taught research methodology and statistics to undergraduates at the City University of New York, York College and to graduate students at Columbia. As a marketing consultant at Arcature, Dr. Hutton worked with Fortune 500 companies to empirically evaluate and enhance the companies’ brand value.
Dr. Hutton attended Columbia University where he earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology as well as a M.Phil. and M.S. in Research Methodology and Statistics.
